Fixed Income Trading

 

Trading of fixed income instruments is one of the fast moving activities in the financial sectors and is one of the most profitable business activities. The trading of performing fixed income instruments has been very active in Indonesia since early 1990s. The regional economic upheavals in 1997, which brought many companies to face difficulties in fulfilling their financial obligations to their creditors, has also opened up another segment in fixed income trading in Indonesia: distressed asset trading both in USD-denominated fixed instrument and IDR-denominated. Capitalizing on this market opportunity. The Fixed Income Division of Batasa Capital has been very active in Indonesian fixed income trading for both performing and distressed assets segment. The fixed Income Division of Batasa Capital is actually one the most active Indonesian player in Indonesian distressed assets trading.

 

The Fixed Income Division of Batasa Capital have established a strong network and relation with various counterparties, such as financial institutions, corporations (both private and government) and high net worth individuals.

 

USD-denominated Fixed Income instruments traded include, but not limited to: Commercial Papers (CP), Promissory Notes (PN), Medium Term Notes (MTN), Floating Rate Notes (FRN) and Eurobond, both distressed and performing IDR-denominated Fixed Income instruments traded included, but not limited to: Government Bonds, Recapitalization Bonds (Recap Bonds), Commercial Papers (CP), Promissory Notes (PN), Medium Term Notes (MTN, and RepurchaseAgreement (REPO).

 

Since early 2004, the Fixed Income Divisionof Batasa Capital has also been active in IDR-denominated Islamic bonds (shari’a bonds) trading, as well as assisting and educating existing clients into investing in Islamic bonds. The Fixed Income Divisionis also actively promoting investment in USD-denominated Islamic bonds issued by Supranational Organization such as Islamic Development Bonds and countries in Middle East, Europe, and Malaysia to Indonesian clients.
